Approach

ModelScenario tailor solutions to your needs; we acknowledge your circumstances are unique. We consult with stakeholders at all levels, good consultancy cannot occur in a vacuum.

We offer clients a contingent workforce, a resource held off their books. You co-opt our capability for a discrete project. ModelScenario supplements your in-house capacity, acting alone or as a member of a project team.

We place emphasis on delivering a quality and timely service. To this end ModelScenario consults to a select group of clients at any given time.

Where your needs extend beyond our expertise we recommend third party expertise.

Approach

Financial Modelling

Properly conceived and constructed, a financial model can provide great insight into the future. Conversely, a poor financial model can be limiting, misleading and commercially damaging. ModelScenario adhere to the principles of the FAST Standard Organisation, an internationally recognised approach to financial modelling.

We believe a sound financial model should be:

  • scoped thoughtfully with involvement from all stakeholders

  • fit for purpose and suit the requirements of the end user(s)

  • sensitised, offering scenarios and 'what-if' analysis to challenge the 'base' or expected case

  • understandable, easy to navigate and audit

  • presentable, yielding outputs for inclusion in corporate material

  • downstream compatible for sophisticated risk modelling (e.g. monte carlo simulation)

ModelScenario builds Excel spreadsheet financial models for:

  • project finance and acquisitions (M&A, MBO/LBO)

  • property finance transactions

  • bank debt and capital raising

  • cash flow forecasts and working capital analysis

  • pricing commercial contracts

Our people have provided financial modelling services to:

  • the preferred bidder in a £1.3bn social regeneration PPP

  • the NZTA preparation of a 30-year capex and cash flow forecast

  • an IPO pursued by Hirepool

  • a multi-national retailer requiring complex operational forecasts

  • Department of Corrections in support of a $250mn business case

  • property financiers of  transactions exceeding $250mn in value

  • a merchant bank for a train leasing transaction

  • a manufacturer assessing the cash flow impact of its growth strategy
